There are also child sizes of this pattern that are free on my blog,find them all linked here: There is enough fabric to allow the front to open almost like a shawl, or you can use the clasp (hook and eye closure, button clasp, or tie clasp) for cooler nights or for added coverage. Oh, the drape, the swish and sway of the fabric!
