Skip the chain stitch next to the hook and then work 1 sc (single crochet) into the next 2 chain stitches. It’s also great for an experienced crocheter who wants a bit of a challenge but is short on time. As a canadian, this terrific looking leaf is close to my heart.
Work a slip stitch into the adjacent chain stitch of the base pattern and pull out a few inches of the yarn. Remove the stitch marker, 1 sl st in. You can use them as a home décor or as appliques.
